U.S. News & World Report – High Performing Recognition
U.S. News & World Report has again recognized Orlando Health in its Best Hospitals rankings. For 2026-2027, the distinctions included a Best Regional Hospital Ranking as well as individual procedures and conditions rankings, including Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Aortic Valve Surgery, Heart Arrhythmia, Heart Attack, Heart Bypass Surgery, Heart Failure, and Pacemaker Implantation.
Becker’s Great Heart Programs
Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute has been named as one of Becker’s Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Heart Programs for 2025. The list features 100 hospitals and health systems throughout the U.S. that are renowned for exemplary heart care, patient outcomes and leading technologies.
Society of Thoracic Surgeons
In the most recent comprehensive ratings, Orlando Health again received the highest rating by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) in two measured adult cardiac surgery categories. Orlando Health earned the highest 3-star rating for aortic valve replacement (AVR) surgery and coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG). Only 4.2% of cardiac surgery centers achieved a 3-star rating for AVR. For CABG, Orlando Health placed among the top 20.2% of participating surgery centers.
Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC)
Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute is accredited in several modalities — echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, vascular testing — from the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC). With a review process respected as one of the most comprehensive in the accreditation industry, an IAC seal of accreditation is the ‘gold standard’ in the imaging and intervention-based procedure fields.
Stroke Center Accreditation
Orlando Health hospitals have earned advanced certification as Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center and Primary Stroke Center facilities from The Joint Commission, the nation’s oldest and largest accrediting body in healthcare. Comprehensive Stroke Centers have specific abilities to receive and treat the complex stroke cases, and Primary Stroke Centers are able to provide the critical elements needed to achieve long-term success in improving outcomes for stroke patients.
American Heart Association Get with the Guidelines®
Several Orlando Health hospitals received American Heart Association (AHA) Get with the Guidelines achievement awards for consistently following the most up-to-date, research-based guidelines for treatment of heart disease and stroke.
Orlando Health South Lake Hospital received Gold Plus – Heart Failure, Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, Orlando Health ORMC and Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital received Silver Plus – Heart Failure; and Orlando Health - Health Central Hospital and Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital received Bronze – Heart Failure. These hospitals were recognized for their commitment to improving outcomes for people with heart failure.
Orlando Health ORMC has also received the Gold Plus – Afib award, recognized for high adherence on all achievement measures in atrial fibrillation.
AHA Target: Stroke Honor Roll
Orlando Health ORMC received the AHA Target: Stroke Honor Roll award for achieving door-to-needle times within 60 minutes in applicable stroke patients.
Beacon Awards for Excellence
Orlando Health ORMC’s Cardiothoracic Surgical Unit (CTSU), Multisystem ICU, Intermediate Critical Care and Neuroscience ICU are among units earning Beacon Awards for Excellence from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, recognizing hospital units that use evidence-based practices to improve both patient and family outcomes.
